The employee is responsible for ensuring that any of his/her eligible nominees traveling under Staff Travel agreements are aware of all the requirements that apply to standby travel. Any reference to employee below shall be deemed to include eligible nominees where applicable. Employees are responsible for checking embargoes before travel. Issuance of a ticket and/or creation of a listing do not guarantee that an embargo does not exist.

Excluded flights are: All codeshare services NOT operated by QANTAS AIRWAYS aircraft (unless otherwise bilaterally agreed). Travel between LAX-NYC-LAX unless QF is the connecting international carrier.

Flight listing policy and procedures
|
Policy: Qantas requires staff passengers to list on their preferred flight prior to flight check-in. Procedures : In Australia, to list on QF flights, the following phone numbers apply for the following cities (and states):

Baggage
|
|
General Info: 20kg baggage limit applies to all staff passengers occupying a seat.
Infants are not allocated any baggage allowance.
Checked baggage:
Maximum free baggage of 20kg per staff passenger. Any one baggage item not to exceed 32kg.
Excess baggage over the 20kg allowance is charged at the normal commercial rate.
Cabin baggage:
One piece of hand baggage to a maximum 7kg, provided it meets the size limitations. |

Change of flight and date is permitted.
Change of itinerary/destination is not permitted unless authorized by airport personnel.

APIS Information as per country requirements.
USA has specific information requirements which must be supplied to the operating carrier prior to check-in.
Boarding policy
Interline staff are boarded according to order of check-in acceptance.
Check-in
General information:
Check-in is handled by the general Economy Class check-in counters, unless otherwise directed by airport personnel.
In Sydney (International), check-in is handled at a dedicated Stand-by counter.
Check-in times:
International check-in is normally a minimum 2 hours prior
Domestic check-in is normally a minimum 1 hour prior
Which desk?:
Normal Economy Class counter, except at Sydney International there is a specific Stand-by counter.
Through check-in:
Not permitted if on different flight numbers.
Code of Conduct
Staff are to behave in a manner so as not to draw attention to themselves, whether at an airport check-in or on-board an aircraft.
Documentation
Staff passenger is responsible to ensure that they are in possession of ALL required documentation for all ports enroute, including transit ports.

Infant safety seats:
On request as check-in.
Unaccompanied minors:
Not applicable.
All children under 16 years of age MUST be accompanied by a family member who is 16 years of age or over AND who is on a similar category of staff ticket. |

Dress code
|
|
Neat and tidy conservative attire is to be worn at all times. Airport staff may refuse uplift if attire is deemed not acceptable.
